Vern shared an honest look at the realities of business with our Gateway CEO students. The business world is cyclical—sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down—but the key is to keep moving forward.
Businesses can fail for many reasons: poor performance, competition, lack of experience, or simply not understanding the true costs of running a business.
His biggest takeaway? Success comes with a price. Sacrifices have to be made, perseverance matters, and sometimes a little luck helps, too.
A career filled with lessons, travel, and experience gave our students plenty to think about as they consider what it really takes to build something of their own.
