⛳️ WHAT A SUCCESS! | Gateway CEO 4th Annual Golf Scramble
We couldn’t have asked for a better Friday for the Gateway CEO 4th Annual Golf Scramble at Oak Brook Golf Club!
This annual fundraiser is hosted by our Gateway CEO Board as we continue to build sustainability within our program and create opportunities for future classes of young entrepreneurs.
A HUGE thank you to Board Members Carol Sparks of Beckemeier LeMoine Law and Marc Voegele of Express Employment Professionals, who took the lead on this year’s scramble, with support from Facilitator Lisa Colon behind the scenes. There are countless details that go into making an event like this happen, and we are so grateful for the time and energy invested!
This year, we set some new goals — and our community responded! We welcomed more than 26 teams, along with an incredible group of sponsors who stepped up to support Gateway CEO.
But this day is about so much more than golf.
One of the greatest parts of the scramble is watching our students experience firsthand what we talk about all year: relationships matter, and networking happens when you are willing to show up, engage and serve.
Instead of spending the day hanging out at the clubhouse, our students were working and connecting. They grilled and served hot dogs at the turn, helped prepare lunch, traveled the course running games and activities, sold tickets, helped with the ball launcher, putting and other contests — and, most importantly, had conversations with the business owners, investors, board members, families and community members who make Gateway CEO possible.
Our students also rotated through separate shifts for a special site visit led by Mike Suhre, adding another learning opportunity to an already full day.
These are the experiences that make CEO different. Students aren't simply learning about business — they are surrounded by the people who are doing it.
And none of this happens without our sponsors. ❤️
