Gateway CEO students are fully immersed in a hands-on business experience. We visited with Kimberly Caughran Collinsville Aqua Park on Thursday because even though this is a city run facility, there are so many business principles that are key to running a successful Parks and Rec Department - including a large aquatic facility. Students got to peek behind the curtain at all the operations and decision making that goes into keeping this park as a service to the community, providing an experience that is part of their summer memories. From budgeting, to training and staffing, certifications and the importance of safety and process, this opened their eyes to what a career may look like and what it really takes to enjoy yourself at a summer destination. Kimberly has been involved in Parks and Rec for her entire career and you can see the care and hard work that goes into leading this successful department. Thank you for hosting Gateway CEO!
