Special thanks to Alison Laughlin for sharing her journey from teacher to representative for Grand Canyon University. While Alison did join our morning to share more details on a specific university, there is more to her story! Alison shared the importance of knowing it is 'ok' if life changes directions -- different than expected. While she grew up with limited exposure to different careers, she taught for several years before pausing to raise her children and then eventually moving back to a classroom setting. While that was a passion, when experiencing the campus at Grand Canyon University and their unique programs in an urban setting in Phoenix, she knew she wanted to be part of this incredible organization and even mentioned to her husband - I would totally work here! Sometimes, it's just a matter of speaking to the opportunity that could unfold. In a few shorts months, Alison was given the chance to apply for a position that would give her a territory to share the programs GCU offers! While a tough decision to leave her classroom in the middle of the school year, she knew it was definitely the right decision!

What makes Grand Canyon University special? GCU is a D1 school offering more than 200+ programs with online and in person classes. They have an active Business program and pitch competitions that happen bi-weekly. They are outside the box and encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship within their programs. Thank you Alison for the Chick-fil-a breakfast and the great learning experience that GCU offers!
