Fast forward 10 years and boom! You are doing real life with a salary for your and your spouse, a child and expenses to figure out! Thank you to 1st MidAmerica Credit Union and Abby Walther for bringing the Mad City crew to Gateway CEO for a real life simulation with students. Provided with a career for them and their spouse, a child and an app that required all aspects of adulting including housing, childcare, car expenses, daily living, recreation, etc, many eyes were opened! This exercise hits differently for students when they realize they are less than a year from doing life a bit more independently. Our reflections on Friday surfaced the reality of why working hard, saving and going after your dreams is such a huge part of your future success.
