Special thanks to Courtney Jordan, founder of the Jordan Group, for bringing a conversation to Gateway CEO on Thursday morning. Courtney introduced the 5 Voices framework for leadership. Everyone speaks. Not everyone is heard. This one sentence set the foundation for students discovering the 5 voices that each leader operates in within some capacity. Communication within an organization is so important and self-awareness helps us work together once we understand the strengths and weaknesses within ourselves and within others. Here are some highlights from the morning!
- Five voices include - Connector, Creative, Pioneer, Nurturer and Guardian.
- We are each our best to the world when we know who our true self is.
- While students completed an online assessment, they got to learn more about each Voice and then re-evaluate to determine if their online assessment actually matched who they actually are.
- Through workshopping, discussion and reflection, journal entries from students really loved this new concept in understanding more about how / why they respond in certain situations and how to understand their team so they can always work for more productivity and being seen.
