Gateway CEO has been welcomed by Kurt Mueller at CARSTAR Maryville for many years now. Kurt has a heart to share his story, to provide real insight on the what the right mindset can do for you and willing to share the successes that he and his family have seen over the last 50 years.
Kurt's first shop with just 420 sq ft had a slogan of 'Shop of the Future for Today' was the building block that eventually led him to CARSTAR Maryville which is now a second generation business that his son runs. They have grown in revenues year after year and continue to win awards for customer satisfaction, average cycle times and process.
As his business grew and he become a franchisee, he went all in on their methods of individual specialization and process. Today, this is a multi-million dollar business that continues to grow and provide an amazing place to work for many. Here are some of the highlights Kurt shared with our students -
- You can do anything you want to do when desire is combined with consistent action.
- Success is built on CAN. Failure is built on CANNOT.
- Always treat customers the way you want to be treated.
- Everybody does the BIG things, but the little things is what sets you apart.
- BELIEVE in yourself. Always. Do the right thing because its the right thing to do.
- One tiny action of service to an individual by stopping when they needed help, led to an opportunity for investment and made future business purchases possible. There is always good in helping others - even when you may not know what return may come some day.
- Stop being afraid of being afraid. The only different between 10 dollars and 10 Million dollars is six zeroes.
- Dream BIG. The one who wins is the one who THINKS that he can.
- Everyday work on your self confidence.
