- What is Gateway CEO? Gateway CEO is a hands on business experience class that takes students through a process to experience every facet of being an entrepreneur and leads to opportunity for professional development!
- Class meets every day that students have school from 7am-8:20am - always off site either at their home base at Truck Centers Training Center or a local business. Students earn two high school credits and 4 college credits.
- Students learn through 'Doing Business' - First semester focuses on Class Business and second semester focuses on personal business that launches at the year end Trade Show
- Students learn through 'Professional Development' - In essence, the Gateway CEO community provides opportunities to learn about business through networking events, guest speakers and site visits at local businesses.
- Special curriculum from Doug Villhard, Professor at Olin Business School/Wash U and mentors as students develop their plans.
- It's a family of learning and an experience you will always take with you.

What are students saying?
- What was your favorite moment either day of/during the process of pulling together Candy Cane Classic (class business)?
I enjoyed many parts of the Candy Cane Classic, however, I had one in particular. This moment wasn’t something physical for me, it was mental. At my previous school, First Baptist Academy, I always had this feeling that my classmates were my family. We didn’t always like each other or get along, but there was always this feeling of safety within each other. We knew each other extremely well and at the Candy Cane Classic I began to start feeling this again within our CEO class. I haven’t had this feeling in the last four years so it just felt so warm to have that again. For me, it’s the comfort of knowing that I could call any of these people twenty years down the road and they would still feel connected to me in a way because we conquered so many obstacles together. At that moment I started to feel very comfortable with everyone and that has been something I have unknowingly been looking for over the last few years.

- Describe your biggest takeaway from first semester that you will take with you beyond CEO.
This has been the most transformative time of my life. I’m confident in everything I do and i feel ready for whatever my future holds. My biggest takeaway is the strengths of networking. If you know how to do it and are good at conversations you can get anywhere in life that you set your eyes on. Devin Maedge/Triad High School
