When you start with a dream to create a family fun environment, impact the community around you and also find unlimited ways to generate revenue - that is what we found at Mac's Family Fun Time in Highland. A chilly start to the morning and a perfect sunrise before heading inside and learning about this dream that began on paper in 2019 and still is not finished!

Justin and Hillary McLaughlin also own Lory Theater in Highland, but knew to continue to grow in small business, a different type of venue, that still served families well was needed! A visit to the Family Entertainment Center Convention and a new business was set into motion. With purchasing 7 acres with an existing building, Mac's Family Fun Time opened with bounce houses, party rooms, a place to create their gourmet popcorn and a few arcade games. This paired well with their frozen custard, soda and pizza options!

Justin shared in those first days that an immediate problem surfaced for their customers - there was limited space for more than two parties and additional public guests stopping in to play. A playground designer from California was able to transform their bounce house space into the Macnasium, an indoor climbing gym! This immediately opened the opportunity to serve more families!

That's not where it stops though! When we are lucky enough for a few unseasonably warm winter days or definitely this spring, their brand new 18 hole miniature golf course is ready to go. With finishing details for decorating and sponsorships at each hole, this will be an incredible place to be for years to come.

Here's a few take aways from this visit -
- Don't be afraid to write down your dream. With plans going on paper in 2019, pieces quickly started coming together to create Mac's Family Fun Time! It will be amazing to support and watch this business grow.
- Your customer will always show you what's needed to improve your product/service/venue. When you see the problem, go to work to find the solution that serves them best. You can always win this way!
- Just start! Mac's Family Fun Time will continue to grow and add features for a wholesome place to spend time with family and friends. They didn't wait to have every single item in place to open.
- Support local! While they serve incredible custard and popcorn, Mac's Family Fun Time also offers Excel soda products and Andurro's pizza. Prairie Farms provides the dairy for their custard!

Thank you Justin for giving us a tour of your BRAND NEW Miniature Golf Course and letting these Seniors have a blast for a few minutes on a school morning!! We will all be back.
