Mentor Day 3. The room was buzzing on Thursday. As students kicked off the new year, they took their idea for a business and started putting structure to it including using the RAW Canvas, along with the Doug Villhard curriculum for Entrepreneurship. When community leaders met with students they were able to talk through several aspects of their business -
- Problem - What problem has been identified in the market?
- Solution - Identifies a solution as a product/service to meet the needs of the consumer. What is the solution? What are 3 benefits?
- Customers - Who are the early adopters? Business to business? Or business to consumer?
- Channels - How do we find our customers? Word of Mouth? Social Media? Shared retail?
- Unfair Advantage/Secret Sauce - What is your unique selling point?
- Cost/Resources - What is it going to cost to build this product/service? What connections can be leveraged?
- Revenue - How is this business going to make money? How will you charge? What is the value - not cost?
It's always cool to see the clarity that comes from the discussions sitting at a table with two amazing mentors and two students as they walkthrough their ideas, get feedback and keep going with their next steps of bring their business to life!
