We are so thankful to Shannon Hogg for welcoming Gateway CEO to her special corner of Highland Square. As a multi-business owner, Shannon and her business partner have brought new life and restoration to 923 Main St with a growing salon, busy boutique and brand new event space. Welcome to JusTeazin' Salon and Boutique and Townsquare Terrace.
Shannon always dreamed of becoming a teacher until college days led her to a new path of Accounting. After graduating college, she began her career in accounting and quickly realized this was not something she wanted to do every day. A quick call to mom and she was headed down a creative path that is still blooming today. Shannon pursued cosmetology all while working to purchase a farm with her husband and begin to grow her family. After enjoying part time work as a stylist, Shannon took a step once her children were older to open her own salon. Naturally her interest in all things jewelry and handbags started a new venture into a hometown boutique to accent her salon. When you are doing well, and opportunity comes, you take it. With a very quick decision and a new business partner, Shannon was purchasing an established business that would be transformed into her favorite things plus an Air BnB apartment and opportunity for event space.
One step at a time, the business came to life. With inventory from the previous business cleared out and clear vision, many days of hardwork has grown into a welcoming space. Whether it's the character of the brick wall, the gifts and fashion in beautiful display cases, or the brand new space that will hold many special celebrations, you can find something that is special for the Highland Square. Here are some special insights that Shannon has learned along her journey.
- A leap of faith. That small bit of courage. When a door opens and an idea pulls at your heart strings, don't be afraid to go for it.
- Restoration in a space might mean electrical, plumbing, and lighting during crunch time. Find your resolve, gather your friends and family and go for it!
- Love what you do. Shannon loves helping clients and friends feel good about their appearance. When you feel good about you, you become unstoppable.
- When it comes to a partner, own your lane and let your partner run with their strengths. Respect that expertise in each area.
- Beauty today is the result of overcoming challenges, having clear vision and not stopping until you are proud of what you've done. Sometimes that literally means a slumber party to finish the project and enrolling the fam to help bring each piece literally to new life.
If you haven't visited, don't be afraid to stop in! Thank you for supporting Gateway CEO as a mentor, a supportive alumni family and a site host for our students. We appreciate you so much!
