Mentor Thursday #4 - If you can imagine a room full of excited young entrepreneurs and community leaders willing to show up at 7am to spend time helping them push through on their business plan, you can imagine that at this point, there is SO much chatter and catch up happening in the first few minutes!! Teresa Reiniger, owner of Living After Grief and Gateway CEO Board member, tag teams in facilitating this meeting each month. This month, students were really drilling into their financials and overall business plan in preparation for their Banker Day on Friday, February 20.
What does this look like? They have been working through their costs of goods sold, monthly direct and indirect costs, price point, products/services offered. While they did have a spreadsheet to review, the also were able to ensure they locked into their targeted customer with products/services that made the most sense.
What's so fun about this day is the 'a-ha' moments as students collaborate with business leaders and their peers in making sure every detail has an answer or they know what other problem they may have to tackle to go to market.
Special thanks to each of our mentors for investing in these young entrepreneurs and to our students for leaning into the process! Excited for what is to come in the next few months as these companies go to market!!
